In addition, participants will learn how to embed formative assessments into their lessons including polls, open ended questions, quizzes, drag and drop activities, matching pairs and memory games, and Nearpod's interactive game Time to Climb. Finally, participants will have an opportunity to observe an Administrator design and publish a flier using Canva in real time; then be placed in the driver's seat by creating a flier of their own that can be used for a future school event! Make a photo journal from the road and it will be ready to print when you get home. Take the time to practice with Google My Maps for planning and exploration. Of course you can use all of these tools to support field trips and classroom instruction but the best way to learn is to use tools for your own needs.

Data Rocks! How One Team Engaged Learners with Data

Abby Dobson and Jen Scott share the story of the Rock Star Binder and how this one tool, not only hooked their learners into data, but opened the door to engaging their 1st and 2nd graders in identifying their motivators, setting goals in learning and life, reflecting, and CELEBRATING. Additionally, hear how the Rock Star Binder helped to create a learning theme and therefore built consistency throughout the year by integrating the "Rock Star" thread into everything from rubrics to student-led conferences and beyond. With the help of Education Coach, Lauren Smith, this trio shares their journey from start to finish, including steps to implementation, challenges, successes, end results, and what's next for their Rock Star Learners. Join us for a focused session on how to engage students with their data in a personalized, purposeful, and fun way. This session requires audience participation and a device. We will focus on how generative AI works within Canva for Education as well as showcase different advanced features.
