Level: Intermediate |
Educational leaders are navigating a rapidly evolving landscape shaped by changing instructional expectations, increased demand for meaningful data, and the growing need for personalized student support. Yet even the most promising initiatives can struggle without thoughtful change management, operational alignment, and stakeholder trust. In this session, Governor Wentworth Regional School District's Assistant Superintendent, Kaitlyn Hills, will share the district's journey through two significant organizational shifts: transitioning their grading practice and platform along with ultimately moving to a new Student Information System. Rather than focusing on technology implementation, this session will explore how district leadership approached change management as a strategic and learner-centered process. Attendees will hear how the district: * identified challenges and opportunities within existing systems and practices * built collaborative teams across instructional and operational departments * communicated a shared vision for change * supported staff through transition * aligned system infrastructure to instructional priorities and student-centered goals The presentation will highlight lessons learned on leadership, communication, district engagement, and sustaining momentum during complex district initiatives. Participants will leave with practical strategies for guiding organizational change while maintaining focus on teaching, learning, and the student experience. |
