Long-held research confirms that strategic formative assessment is stimulative to student learning. In a competency based learning environment, it has never been more important to use formative assessments to target instruction and to provide ongoing support on the road to mastery. With the recent explosion of technological tools to facilitate formative assessments, our potential to facilitate dynamic formative assessments that stimulate learning is literally limitless. In this demonstration presentation, hear how teachers are applying research based formative assessments and digital integration strategies in both core content and elective courses as a means of personalizing the learning experience and moving students forward toward competency and beyond.
