FIRST LEGO League - Sensing Your Environment with SPIKE Prime & Essential
Ken St.Hilaire, Director, FIRST New Hampshire Robotics, and Jeremy Knowlton, White Mountain Science, Inc.

Level: Beginner
Grades: K-5, 6-8

Come expand your knowledge in this hands-on session using sensors with the LEGO SPIKE Essential and SPIKE Prime robot platforms used by the FIRST LEGO League programs. Learn how to use the color sensor, gyroscope and other sensors to engage your students and help solve problems. Program your robot creation using the wonderful Scratch-based SPIKE App. Emphasis is placed on autonomous navigation and turning on/turning off outputs (sounds, motors, lights) with sensors. By the end of the session, you will have all the digital resources and knowledge you'll need to begin basic sensor activities with your students. This session is another in the series of LEGO workshops that we will provide during the conference. Each session will focus on a different functional area of the LEGO SPIKE platforms. Come to one session, come to all sessions, and learn by playing with us!
