School districts are required to implement specific data security safeguards under RSA 188 and the Minimum Standards adopted by the Department of Education. Many districts are confused by these complex regulations, unfamiliar with how to conduct a comprehensive data security risk management project, and therefore struggling with compliance. The panel will demystify this topic by educating participants about the particular requirements imposed on districts, the process districts should follow to conduct an appropriate data security risk assessment, and the governance plan that must be implemented to be in compliance.
