The adult cultures of our schools matter. As it seems today's world is rapidly approaching the "singularity," we are in desperate need of more human-focused leaders in our schools. In this session, participants will understand the research behind HUMAN* leadership and how to nurture and develop those characteristics within themselves. One way to truly transform our educational mindsets and spaces is to support the development of more HUMAN* focused leaders. As synthesized from an extensive literature review, the attributes of school leaders who embody the elements of the HUMAN* framework can generally be defined as those who hone empathy, understand themselves as leaders, make meaning for others as they are motivated by a mission, anticipate and acknowledge the unknown, and nurture trust and relationships. Join us in this session to re-commit to our collective humanity! (Note: the HUMAN* framework has been created as part of the presenter's dissertation.)
