Many large public school systems have banned it. Turnitin, and others, immediately began developing methods to detect it. This session will examine the evolution of technology purchasing and management in schools from the early 90s to today. I have been involved with the development and management of 1:1 programs since the launch of a 1:1 program Brewster Academy in Wolfeboro, NH in 1993 and later a decade at the helm of the Maine Learning Technology Initiative, and the lead consultant and author of the State of Utah's digital learning plan that is the underpinnings of on-going legislative funding for 1:1 in all Utah public schools supporting over 600,000 students.
