As we enter year three of our district-wide digital literacy pilot and shift toward integrating 22nd century skills like AI, join us to explore the skills and attempt the strategies our pilot teachers are integrating in their coursework and dive into the possibilities for yourself.

We will focus on how generative AI works within Canva for Education as well as showcase different advanced features. *  Level: All levels Grades: K-5, 6-8, 9-12	Not since banning calculators has an innovative technology caused as much concern to educators. Will it lead to massive cheating and impact the teaching of writing? Many large public school systems have banned it. Turnitin, and others, immediately began developing methods to detect it. A real challenge, and opportunity, for educators, is to learn to use it thoughtfully, ramp up media literacy programs, and develop assignments that result in original and creative work by students.You will leave with specific suggestions for classroom use, many relevant resources, and thought provoking questions. The term "Electronic Constructivism" was coined by this presenter, who will link these technologies to what it is all about: Good Teaching. Updated with recent news items, possible government regulation, and issues calling for debate, this session will be a fast-moving summary of the challenges and benefits of this powerful tool. You will receive a link to all of the tools and resources to explore in more detail later. The session will end with a raffle for techy prizes.

Emphasis will be placed on designing a fair that caters to the individual learning styles and needs of educators, offering a variety of formats and content, including hands-on workshops, roundtable discussions, teacher-led showcases, playgrounds, and self-directed learning. Practical, step-by-step strategies for orchestrating the fair will be provided, along with the use of collaborative platforms for planning and promoting the event. The presenters will showcase real-world examples, lessons learned, and the tools employed to ensure a successful event. In addition, the session will highlight how to gauge the effectiveness of the fair and measure its impact on participants' professional development. Level: Beginner Grades: Pre-K, K-5, 6-8, 9-12	For all learners to be valued, seen, heard and understood, they need to understand and give a voice to their own identity so that they can develop the skills and practices to become agents and self advocates of their learning. Research tells us that "Identity is at the core of adolescent social and emotional learning." Knowing one's identity includes How I Learn using the UDL Lens of Access, Engage and Express. With this lens, each learner is empowered to know and share the variability in their learning that includes both strengths and challenges. In this session, participants will use the adaptive Access chart to create an Empower the Learner Profile for a neurodivergent learner they know and then discuss how they could empower their learner to self-advocate for their own learning.

*  Level: Beginner Grades: K-5  Extensions	In this session participants will learn about our K-5 school-wide reader engagement program and how it has evolved from a small school to a larger school and from paper-only to a hybrid paper and digital version. In addition to learning about the home-grown program overall, we will discuss the logistics of tracking by school, grade, class, and student and how students monitor their own progress taking responsibility for their own success and growth. Bonus content includes information on bulk-creating end-of-year certificates for all students.
